Joel Smith of Tucson, a top advocate for preserving Arizona's desert,
really encouraged me to visit B&B Cactus Farm on the east side of Tucson.
It is one of the largest cactus retailers in the city
and I was not disappointed at all with the wide variety of cacti and succulents they offered.
B&B Cactus Farm is located at 11550 East Speedway in Tucson.
Near the entrance is a beautiful
cactus garden with a walking path.
There are many variations of the prickly pear cactus, and I have been recently intrigued
by the prickly pear tree. They seem to grow likes weeds out here in southern Arizona and I captured quite
a few on camera while in Tombstone, Arizona.
An array of cacti.
Young cacti under the care of a greenhouse.
Here are four unique and interesting cacti that "made it" among the many photos from my visit.
TOP LEFT - Not sure of the name, but I like the color, shape and blooms.
TOP RIGHT - Cacti with red-shaded thorns are a favorite of mine.
BOTTOM LEFT - This is a cactus that grows naturally in Argentina. ("Trichocereus Camarguensis")
BOTTOM RIGHT - A pack of bright golden barrel cacti.
